Chris Lynch, the Christchurch and Canterbury broadcaster, will be leaving NZME-owned Newstalk ZB radio station after nearly 10 years of service.

In a press release this afternoon, Jason Winstanley, head of the NZME conference, praised Lynch’s nearly ten-year stint with the company.

“As a local broadcaster, Chris has been instrumental in NZME’s coverage of some of the biggest events in recent Canterbury history,” said Winstanley.

“On behalf of all of us at Newstalk ZB and the larger teams at NZME, I want to thank Chris for his hard work and dedication.”

Winstanley said Newstalk ZB remains committed to its local broadcast and that an announcement on plans for the Newstalk ZB Christchurch morning show will be released in the coming weeks.
